More Dictionaries & Pinyin support
Monday, October 19 2009
A couple of days ago BBTran services were updated. Here’s the list of changes:
- Reference.com translation provider was removed. On official site they now use Google engine, so no need to list it separately.
- Google Dictionary now supports 12 languages:
- English
- Korean
- Russian
- French
- German
- Italian
- Spanish
- Portuguese
- Dutch
- Czech
- Chinese simplified and traditional
- Google Text translation was improved by giving more translations and text/word mixed results for phrases.
- Any to Chinese (Simplified) gives Chinese and Pinyin translations for any translation engine!
All current BBTran users will receive this update automatically. There is no need to install a new version.
On a next usage it will prompt for a services list refresh and that’s all.
Those who still do not use BBTran can get if OTA for free here or via AppWorld as FancyTran.
In addition to this Google translation to engine were added 7 new languages: Bengali, Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Guarani, Kannada and Marathi. Thought their support is more theoretical at this time since BlackBerry have no fonts to support that languages. Home with OS 5.0 and an ability to load custom fonts this will be foxed soon.
