Dear users.
This is official Release Notes for BBTran 1.7 that was released 7 Aug 2009.
It is a major update that fixes many problems with app crash on 4.6 and connectivity issues.
This update was forced for all BBTran users though some versions lower 1.6.2 have bug with auto update mechanism, so those users will probably get an exception. Today I got some of feedback requests from them and recommended to update manually from http://ota.bbtran.com.
This release also bring a lot of improvements and new features. Please read this brief list. I recommend read it to the end, since there is a bonus at the end ;)

Few minutes ago a new version of BBTran 1.7.1 was pushed to production server. No I'm doing some tests on a live server. And once I finish, I'll post this release notes to the blog. Too much to say about there ;) But everyone will now get an automatic update and can start exploring new features. Important! Some users still have version 1.6-1.6.1 and that version has a bug in the autoupdate mechanism. Reference.com Word Translation Service is Closed

Today I found Reference.com word translation service not working. I checked translate.reference.com web site and found that they closed their translation service and used Google Translate engine instead. Very sad since they already have text translation service but for word translation with details and variants their service was better than google's. Anyway nothing to do with this. For some time Mode=Dictionary, Provider=Reference.com combination will not work in bbtran. Very soon I'll refresh services list to remove it and probably will add some new services instead. -Sergey...

I've just came back from my vacation. Thanks to everyone being patient about some support delays last two weeks.
During my vacation I had a chance to visit Thailand and I liked this country very much! This is really a country of contrasts, very impressive. I would recommend everyone to visit it if you did not yet J I would bet you’d like to visit it more times after that.
Last time I had several requests about Thai language support in BBTran. Google translate really supports Thai language but the showstopper was lack of Thai fonts for BB.

Last time I got a lot of requests for pinyin (Romanized) translations of Chinese words. People really need it since there is no use from hieroglyphs for foreigners. Well today I’ve added this feature for Dictionary mode of Google translation provider. However that works only for simplified Chinese and not a traditional. It also works only in one direction now: Chinese(Simplified)->English. For some reason Google does not provide pinyin for English->Chinese. Once version 1.6 was released I've got a lot of feedback as well as Pro license requests. Since siteheart link worked not very well and was very confused almost no one used it. It also was not automated so one should wait for activation from my side. So reseller sites did some sells instead. I like resellers for their popular resources but they take too much fee and who knows if ever send the money :D Today I've changed BBTran Pro page to use automated merchant engine.
