Last week was very unusual. I did not expect that v2.0 of Fancy Chars will be SO popular. It has now topped to 2nd place in Mobihand store :)  And even got some clones from other devs. Shame on them ;)   There for I got more and more feedback on some bugs in v 2.0. And now most of them were fixed:   1. Button Size was Increased for high dpi blackberries like Storm. So now images looks large enough on any screen. 2. BBM Smiles now work in BBM group and broadcast chat in addition to 1-1 chat and status message. 3. Country Flags added for BBM5 4. Non supported symbols are now hidden...

There was a long time since FancyChars was updated list time. And here we are with version 2.0. The main feature in this update is a new tab with hidden smiles for BlackBerry Messenger 5.0. This tab appears only in BBM 5.0 edit field and the field where you can type status and name. If you have no BBM version 5.0 they you can get it on AppWorld or download from blackberry.com using you mobile browser. Hello, my dear friends! Today I’m glad to announce my new application for BlackBerry called Fancy Shake . For most people using iPhone it is known as mCoolPhone but I always wanted to get such thing for my BlackBerry so decided to do it myself :) The app allows you to answer and reject calls by power of motion! To answer call you need just shake your BBerry and to reject – flipover it. There is also an option to reject call calls while BB is flipped. This is useful when you have to attend meeting and do not want to be disturbed. Just flip it! I’ll post a video soon on how to use...

A couple of days ago BBTran services were updated. Here’s the list of changes: Reference.com translation provider was removed. On official site they now use Google engine, so no need to list it separately. Google Dictionary now supports 12 languages: English Korean Russian French German Italian Spanish Portuguese Dutch Czech Chinese simplified and traditional Google Text translation was improved by giving more translations and text/word mixed results for phrases. Today Microsoft released an update to Bing translator services. Five languages were added and now the total number is 20. All BBTran (FancyTran) users will get this update automatically next time they run the application. Have a fun with your translations! -Sergey

After 30 days of approval process BBTran at last went to AppWorld. Though the price was – rebranding since RIM claims not to use BB in BlackBerry apps! Today, we're excited to announce that Google added nine new languages to Google Translate: Afrikaans, Belarusian, Icelandic, Irish, Macedonian, Malay, Swahili, Welsh and Yiddish. Only two days past from 1.7 release and we got a first services update. This is actually good. Even with all those support activities I have time to add new translation providers. Today I’ve added Majstro Aplikaĵoj translation provider. It is a multilingual translation dictionary that uses the artificial language Esperanto to translate words and short expressions from one natural language to another. BBTran 1.7 Release Notes

Dear users.

This is official Release Notes for BBTran 1.7 that was released 7 Aug 2009.

It is a major update that fixes many problems with app crash on 4.6 and connectivity issues.

This update was forced for all BBTran users though some versions lower 1.6.2 have bug with auto update mechanism, so those users will probably get an exception. Today I got some of feedback requests from them and recommended to update manually from http://ota.bbtran.com.

This release also bring a lot of improvements and new features. Please read this brief list. I recommend read it to the end, since there is a bonus at the end ;)
